Co-op zombie shooter World War Z: Aftermath is coming to PS5 later this month, with a free update for PS4 players, and an exclusive mode.

The upgraded version of the game for next-gen consoles will feature 4K visuals running at 60 FPS, even with all of those zombies on screen. Speaking of, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of World War Z: Aftermath will also include the exclusive Horde Mode XL.

This new mode will work the same way as the standard horde mode, but you'll occasionally have to face a special XL wave of enemies, featuring over 1,000 zombies, which is more zombies onscreen than ever before in the game. A free update will also be arriving on the same day to all versions of World War Z: Aftermath, adding in mutators to the standard Horde Mode, as well as new weapons, plus a revamped weapon progression system.

You can check out the trailer for the new mode down below. World War Z: Aftermath is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 24th January 2023.

  • This game was far better than it had any right to be, and this free upgrade might make me go back and get that 100%.
