Publisher Nacon has confirmed that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been delayed yet again, having been previously pushed out of its original 2021 release window to 2022, then subsequently moved from its September 2022 slot.

That last delay was apparently to apply additional polish, suggesting that the game was potentially in its final phases of development. However, this latest delay (included in Nacon's recent earnings report) seems to point to The Lord of the Rings: Gollum being some way off.

According to the report, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is now set to release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in “the first half of” Nacon's financial year 2023-24, putting somewhere between April and September 2023. Hopefully, a new release date will be announced soon.

  • More delaying of this inevitably being a complete dud of a game that nobody asked for.
  • Just cut your losses and cancel it, it still looks awful.
