Bandai Namco has announced that registration to take part in the upcoming Tekken 8 Closed Network Test are now live, offering a chance to play the latest instalment in the fighting series a go, ahead of release.

Select players will be chosen to take part in the Closed Network Test in July, going hands-on with Tekken 8 and its new “aggressive” combat system that encourages an all-out offensive playstyle. As a participant in the test, you'll be able to offer feedback on the game, and help influence key mechanics and features.

The Tekken 8 Closed Network Test will include access to online Ranked Matches with cross-play support, five stages (Urban Square, Yakushima, Rebel Hangar, Sanctum, and Arena), and 16 characters including Jin, Kazuya, Paul, Law, King, Lars, Jack 8, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Asuka, Lili, Hwoarang, Bryan, and Claudio.

Week 1 of the Closed Network Test will be available only on PlayStation 5, before Week 2 throws the doors open to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players, all of whom can play together via cross-play. Here are the full dates and times for both Tekken 8 Closed Network Test sessions:

  • Week 1 – PlayStation 5 only
    • 21st July at 09:00 BST – 24th July at 08:00 BST
      • Maintenance will be held from 21st July at 21:00 BST until 22nd July 00:00 BST
  • Week 2 – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
  • 28th July at 09:00 BST – 31st July at 08:00 BST
    • Maintenance will be held from 29th July 09:00 BST until 29th July at 12:00 BST

The Tekken 8 Closed Network Test commences on 21st July on PS5, then on 28th July for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (no PlayStation Plus  or Xbox Live Gold is required). You can register to take part here.
