Having received a rating in Korea, the rumoured Sonic Origins Plus could be due to release this June, according to a report.
Apparently, the updated version of the Sonic collection released in June of last year, will include a dozen of Sonic's outings originally released for the SEGA Game Gear, as well as the addition of Amy Rose as a playable character across all of Sonic Origins' four games. Knuckles will reportedly also be made playable in Sonic CD.
The now-deleted report from ComicBook (via GoNintendo and VGC) states that Sonic Origins Plus will be available as a $9.99 upgrade DLC for existing owners of Sonic Origins, or as a bundle with the base game for $39.99. A physical retail release is also being touted, with a 20-page artbook supposedly thrown in for good measure.
As for those Game Gear additions, these are reported as being the following:
Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992)
Sonic Chaos (1993)
Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine (1993)
Sonic Drift (1994)
Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball (1994)
Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble (1994)
Sonic Drift 2 (1995)
Tails’ Skypatrol (1995)
Tails Adventure (1995)
Sonic Labyrinth (1995)
Sonic Blast (1996)
Sonic Origins came to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, so, presumably Sonic Origins Plus will be landing on the same platforms, assuming it is indeed set for June. Perhaps it'll also rectify some of the issues that co-developer Headcannon wasn't much pleased with.
