THQ Nordic has today released Risen for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, taking you to the mysterious volcanic island of Faranga, a place inhabited by dangerous monsters, and ruled by the enigmatic Don Esteban.

With ruins rising from the ground across the island, vicious creatures are beginning to take over, and so, at the behest of Inquisitor Mendoza, you'll need to investigate Faranga and decide the fate of the island and its people.

Caught in the middle of rebellion, rampant tyranny, and strange mystic rituals, you'll need to make decisions that will impact Faranga, in an epic RPG adventure first released for Xbox 360 and PC back in 2009.

Risen arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch today with performance enhancements, a reworked UI, no loading screens, and HD visuals. You can check out the game's release trailer below.

  • I wouldn’t call this a remaster, feels like they’ve only slightly bumped up the resolution on the textures. Most are still awful. Then asking for £25 when the original is only £3 on the Xbox store, it’s just a cash grab, more so than most
