Blizzard has announced that new Tank hero Mauga will be coming to Overwatch 2 from tomorrow, arriving as part of Season 8: Call of the Hunt. Wielding his dual chainguns, Mauga is a fierce tactician, able to charge through enemies and brawl in close-quarters combat.
As well as Mauga's full debut, Season 8 brings with it festive holiday events, new Hero Mastery courses, new rewards, and ‘The Battle of the Beasts' mode. A 4v4 PvPvE game mode, The Battle of the Beasts features a clash between Grand Beasts, as you strive to defeat the enemy beast while protecting your own.
Additionally, Season 8 includes new Hard Light Weapon Skins for Rein, Reaper, and Mercy, with more to come with other characters. Hero Mastery Courses for Echo, Genji, D. Va, and Lucio are also on the way, with the ability to Bookmark moments in Mastery Course replays. Winter Wonderland is also set to return for another year, from 19th December, with new Holiday skins for Cassidy, Baptiste, and Illari.
Fan-favourite modes like Mei’s Snowball Offensive and Yeti Hunt are also coming back, with new challenges and rewards. Until then, Battle of the Beasts is live from tomorrow until 18th December, with new cosmetics, as well as a highlight intro for Mauga and a new name card, up to 25,000 Battle Pass XP to earn, and more. The Premium Season 8 Battle Pass will also feature a Mythic Grand Beast Orisa skin.
