Street Fighter X Tekken 1.04 Patch Hit By Game-Breaking Bug

Keeping a knife away from fire is generally advisable in the real world, and following the release of the latest 1.04 patch for Street Fighter X Tekken, we'd recommend doing the same where Rolento's knife is concerned. Although the patch fixes a range of bugs and other issues, bizarrely, it's introduced a game-breaking one.

What happens is, the game freezes when Rolento's knife comes into contact with a fireball during his Stinger projectile move, which sounds like some sort of a joke, but isn't. Shoryuken reported on the glitch, after a number of users encountered it across both consoles with all varieties of fireball projectiles. Even fire punches do the trick.

So, keep Rolento's knife away from fireballs at all costs. We don't know what he's doing trying to cut a fireball anyway. Surely that doesn't work. Check out the YouTube videos below to see the SFxTK glitch. Hopefully, it'll be fixed soon.

  • Wow! That is f'ing bad and they better fix that like 5 minutes ago. That is really bad! LOL I don't use Rolento, but I can imagine fighting a Rolento and trying to zone and that crap happens! I'm not downloading that patch!
  • I gave up on this game ages ago, the base idea was interested but the product was a trainwreck of problems. And it also seems this patch only addressed glitches (though another was made) and infinites that were found, the game is supposed to get a "balance" patch from what I hear (assuming this isn't it). I can only take so many standing jabs before I get tired of the game or worse the time running out.
  • Who the hell is Rolento?
  • @3 Let me Google that for you...
  • @Setsuna Well at least we have TekkenXStreet Fighter to look forward too! Until then, we will have TTT2 to hold us off. SFXTekken is very fun, but it was poorly marketed (for those that know) and incomplete for the most part.
  • @3 Rolento its a enemy in the game Final Fight (exactly the 3rd) of the 90´s. Wowww new players doesnt know nothing about history of the games.
  • @3 Couldn't tell if you were trolling or not! He's in the vids above, if you watched them! Unless you meant where he originated from. Vagrant is right! He's from Final Fight along with other SF characters like Cody, Guy, Sodom, Mike Haggar, Poison, Hugo just to name a few!
  • @Rafie Yup, I don't Harada is going to disappoint his fans ... with a mindset like his I highly doubt it. SFxT may not have been marketed in the right way but it was hyped up too much and gave us expectations, like if you remember the first teaser video we got from Comic Con I believe when they first showed off the game it looked pretty good and solid, if they had kept it much closer to SFIV then it is now it might have been better but now it just looks like a bunch of good and bad ideas piled into one without consideration of the end result. At this point the only games I'm really looking forward to are Persona 4 Arena and Guilty Gear's PSN release. I'm somewhat interested in Dead or Alive 5 but unless they address problems and concerns people had through the demo it won't live up to its name.
  • Well, I came in here expecting to get pissed off at Capcom. Good thing I don't play Rolento or any characters with fireballs though. Still, that is ridiculous.
  • This is why you test your patches before releasing them...
  • @8 The Dead or Alive 5 demo was just an alpha. Of course there would have been issues.
  • @Setsuna Right on! I always loved Tekken just a bit more than I did Street Fighter! Harada most certainly didn't disappoint with his latest renditions of Tekken imo. I remember the big hype and I was excited for it. Just like SF4 didn't disappoint me when we first saw the hype for that. At least the hype kept going well after the release. This game here has kind of disappointed me in some ways. I still like the game and think its great fun, but it could be better and handled WAY better. I hope Capcom learned their lesson here. Fans want Capcom VS SNK 3, as well as a new Darstalkers title.
  • I hope they fix this ASAP! Do they even test patches any more?
  • I really still have hopes for this game but they need to fix a lot including Jabs so broken jumping/ anti airs timer rebalancing because ryu rufus rolento and zangief are broken lessen block stun make links do a lot more damage than chains speed up character movement and finally fix glitches and bugs such as this knife one
  • @14 The WHOLE game is broken lol.... I literally beat someone by just hitting jab :/ The assist gems. My god lol
  • I don't honestly see why people would play this anyways. I'm sorry but the game ending as soon as ONE of two people go down is amazingly stupid.
  • 13: of course not. Companies don't test anymore. That's what consumers are for and we aren't even on payroll!
  • weird glitch for sure my ps3 auto updated last night, even though only rented it and ive platinumed it. oh well no glitch here then.
  • What the hell Rolento's my favorite character to use in every Street Fighter he's in. Now I can't even use him for fear of blowing up my damn system. WTF!
  • #14 Rufus got nerfed really hard with this patch. If you mean "broken" as "pointless as shit" now then I agree. Zangief is fine as is, imo. Don't think there's any real problems with him since they took away that ridiculous lariat block string. Ryu/Ken/Rolento, completely agree. At the very least Raven takes some degree of skill to do the ridiculous things he can pull off. Not referring to the runaway tactics for whoever wants to bring that up, since resolving the time issues may also help fix that. Speed up character movement is just lol. This isn't Marvel. Not really sure what you mean when you're referring to anti-airs. Unclear on jumping as well, though I agree there are things there that need fixed. #15 I really wonder what the hell goes through Capcom when they're coming up with these ridiculously stupid ideas. I'm against autoblock/tech/win gems in the first place, but the first set were at least balanced for the meter they use. Not sure why they would just go "DERP LETS ADD BROKEN ASS VERSIONS OF THEM FOR NO RAISIN". smh #16 Because it promotes some degree of strategy. Makes tagging out important. Or it would if so many parts of the game weren't so ungodly overpowered and absurdly imbalanced.
