Prototype 2 extends a tentacled arm and swings straight into the number one in the UK charts this week. Activision's open-world action game is the only new release in a chart that merely shuffles around a little, moving up or down a spot here and there. Snore.
So instead we turn to look at those games with the greatest staying power. F1 2011 is still going strong, following a new Formula 1 season-inspired resurgence a few weeks back. It's the longest serving game in the top 20 with a whopping 32 weeks on the charts.
Just behind that is FIFA 12. The evergreen football sim has been around for 31 weeks now, most of which have been spent in the higher reaches of the top 20. Say what you want about the FIFA series and EA's various DLC and server policies, but people sure do lap it up. You can hear the cash registers ringing from here.

Good to see Prototype 2 jump straight to number 1; it may not be the longest, hardest, most original game but it was bloody good fun! With Max Payne 3, Sniper Elite V2, DiRT Showdown and Battleship The Video Game incoming I can't see it staying up there for long though...
Still haven't bought Prototype 2 yet, but reviews are saying it's meh, whereas players are saying it's great fun... I'm gonna' go with the players opinions...
Also, look at Uncharted 3 in the 4th spot... it actually went UP a spot when a new game jumped ahead of it!
