BAFTA has announced the 2012 British Academy Video Games Awards shortlist.
Out in front with an impressive eight nominations each are Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham City and the late Team Bondi’s L.A. Noire. Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet 2 follow behind, with nominations across six different categories.
The most hotly contested category, meanwhile, will no doubt be the GAME Award of 2011. Unlike the other shortlisted awards, the best game is voted on by the public. You have a choice of Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, FIFA 12, L.A Noire, Minecraft, Portal 2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
BAFTA will reveal the winners at a ceremony held in London on Friday 16th March.
