Silent Hill HD Collection Getting Separate PSN Releases?

Looks like the games comprising the Silent Hill HD Collection are making their way to PSN individually, alongside the boxed compilation.

That's according to Siliconera, who have spotted separate listings for Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 on the PEGI ratings website. There's no official word to accompany the find just yet, but we can presume it's all legit. Konami adopted a similar strategy for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.

Following a last-minute delay, Silent Hill HD Collection joins the latest entry to the series, Silent Hill: Downpour, in a March release. You the grab the retail version of the HD Collection on the 6th in North America and the 9th in Europe.

  • I hope they still contain a platinum trophy for each game, unlike the Resident Evil HD games. Otherwise I'm switching my preorder to XBOX.
  • If these end up going on PSN with no Platinums after all this time talk and hype = EPIC FAIL :|
  • Any reason SH1 is not included?
  • @3 because SH1 was on the original Playstation and they can't just upgrade the graphics to HD, obviously. They'd have to completely remake the game, which would be ridiculous.
  • If it stays with a retail release then there should be a Platinum. Possibly only one though
  • The better question is why isn't Silent Hill 4 included?
  • @6 Because it is s***
  • I can't wait to get these games and then not play them cause I'm too scared to haha! I think I read somewhere that the games will have platinums for sure. @4 I had hoped they would have worked on a HD release of Shattered Memories, the remake of the first game. Either working from the PSP version or the Wii version.
  • @1 that's not the right type of attitude... trophies aren't important, most important thing is the game itself, so switching your pre-order to Xbox is a tad outrageous. But on another note, can't wait for the Silent Hill HD collection, along with the MGS HD collection to hit the EU :)
  • I still don't understand why they are releasing this only a week before Downpour. It should have been released in Jan or Feb to get gamers excited or interested in the new game. I'm not buying both in a weeks time, and I'm sure others feel the same way. Anyhow, I am looking forward to the HD collection, I loved SH2 very much.
  • I would like loads of trophies but if there are just a few it's still a buy from me. Trophies/platinum are just a bonus.
  • I'm buying the Disc doesn't matter if are released in PS Store
  • Would have been nice if Konami threw in Shattered Memories.
  • It would make sense. Look at most of the HD collections so far. God of War/Origins collection can be purchased separately, Team ICO collection can be purchased separately, MGS collection, so on and so forth. And yes gentlemen, they will all have separate Platinum trophies. Each game is its own literal "game", and thus, has its own achievement list and Platinum trophy.
  • best to stick with box pre-orders, 'cause you can sell those if you finished them. you can't sell psn games ^_^ @7: so true...lol
  • The biggest problem with the separate releases is the problem with all psn games; they don't price drop. Even if you don't want to buy the disc at 40, you could wait it out and get both games for 25 in a month or two. Also, anyone that would want to buy this game wants to play both games so there is no reason to buy 20 dollar psn releases.
  • thats cool but im still buying the disc. still wish sh1 was included though.
  • Hi guys newbie here, looking good, disc for me easier to lend out n play elswhere.
  • i can't wait for this hd collection, and better yet it seems it's getting release on the psn store. platinum wise, i don't think it will be difficult, unless they add a trophy for getting the best possible end game rank.
