Ubisoft has today announced that the PlayStation Network will be getting the Assassin's Creed: Revelations multiplayer beta first, giving PlayStation Plus subscribers the chance to sharpen up their assassination skills ahead of the game's release later in the year.

From September 3rd until September 11th, PS Plus and Ubisoft Uplay members will be able to gain exclusive access to the multiplayer beta on PlayStation 3, offering nine characters to sample. The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion will all be unlocked for you to play with across three maps, namely Knight’s Hospital, Antioch and Constantinople.

There'll be four playable modes to check out too, including Wanted, Manhunt, the new Deathmatch mode and the new Artifact Assault game-type, which is a segment of the content you can expect in the finished game when Assassin's Creed: Revelations launches on November 15th, 2011 in North America and November 18th, 2011 in Europe. Check out our multiplayer preview for more and take a look at the five new screens here.

  • YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
  • So them progress we make in the beta transfers to the game, right?
  • fuckin RAAAAAGE!!!!!
  • Luckly I'm uPlay Member :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
  • Whats the criteria for being a uPlay member? Is it just a case of having a previous Ubi game and having used uPlay? Or is it something you need to pay for? :S
  • PS+ is the best!
  • i hope the bf3 beta starts after the ac beta. cause otherwise i won't know which one to play
  • that good but i got the battlefiled 3 beta to and then uncharted 3
  • @2 ACB beta stats didn't transfer to game I was already level 15 and I had to start all over again. Hopefully there won't be MP trophies such as that. Hope is the last to die right?
  • cool
  • No! AC multiplayer does not have enough substance. It stops being fun twenty minutes in. I get milking the cow, but come on.AC is a single player thing, and since it's the end of the Ezio trilogy...cmon
  • I'm a Uplay and PS+ member. Double whammy!
  • Wow, I'll be playing Madden when the beta starts, and halfway through it, I get Resistance 3. Gonna be hard decisions.
  • Think I might try this although I have not played any of them before...
  • This Beta won't make any difference, it'll still be a bug-fest when it comes out with glitched trophies galore. I'm sorry if I sound negative but after reading about all the trouble people have had with the other AC games, it's hard not to be negative.
  • @15 I Never had any problems with any AC games...some tropies were hard but everything doable
  • I've yet to try an AC game, just purchased #2 and hope to get around to playing it over the weekend, but I'll definately be checking out the beta to sample the MP modes, a large chunk on my PSN friends list has been playing ACB mp for months now and never seem to tire of it so there must be something good there But for now it's Resistance 3 beta time :)
  • @16: You've been lucky then as numerous people have had trouble with all 3.
  • I have not had any trouble with any of the AC games trophy wise (glitches etc), the first AC game didn't have Trophy support.
  • @19: Again, you've been lucky, just search for Glitch or glitched trophies/Achievements on any games site and I'll guarantee they'll be at least 2 dozen threads on the horrendous glitches people have had. The 1st AC had some crippling bugs until they were patched.
  • Woo, I'm both. Get in there ^_^
  • Wow the graphic better than AC Brotherhood so i'm sure i will buy for this
