Despite being scheduled for next week, Ubisoft has released Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter today, meaning you can download and play the game's final dose of content almost a week earlier than anticipated. What's more, the DLC apparently includes an unexpected tie-in with next year's Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Ubisoft attributes the early arrival of The Last Chapter to “an unforeseen glitch in the Animus,” and you can seemingly head to your settlement of Ravensthorpe to start the final questline. “We hope you enjoy The Last Chapter of Eivor's story...and the additional surprises we have before 2022 comes to an end,” Ubi's tweet added.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter is available now, and sees Eivor's journey finally drawing to a close, taking her from England to North America. As you'd expect, there will be plenty of farewells from your Viking pals, as well as a surprise appearance from Basim's mentor, Roshan, who will be appearing in Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Roshan teams up with Eivor in a free ‘Shared History’ quest for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, also available now. Assassin's Creed Mirage is due to release sometime in 2023.

  • Why even bother purchasing Season Passes now when more and more often they never allow you access to ALL future DLC? The devs are ripping us off increasingly with each new game.
