Indie publisher Ratalaika Games and developer Senile Team have announced that retro-style platformer, Intrepid Izzy, will be launching this December, blending beat 'em up and adventure gameplay with its 2D platform-jumping action.

Inspired by 16-bit era platformers, Intrepid Izzy promises a “colourful feast of action and exploration”, with fluid HD visuals and animation, across four expansive levels. These include the sunny temples and palm trees of 'Aztec Greece', a subterranean ‘Chocolate Mine’, the frosty home of deadly ninjas in the ‘East Pole’, and a ‘Haunted Forest’.

Eleven small levels, meanwhile, will include different elements, like time-limited challenges, boss fights, and more, while you can unlock new costumes, upgrades, and secrets. Intrepid Izzy launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch on 2nd December, priced $10.99/€10.99.
