CD Projekt RED has dropped a new trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, offering a brief look at the upcoming free next-gen update, which will introduce improved visuals and performance, Netflix content, and other stuff.

As well as a selection of technical enhancements including 4K resolution, better performance, ray tracing, faster loading times, and integrated mods, the next-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3 will also add a new Photo Mode.

“Experience the game as never before,” the developer teases. and you can take a look at what the improvements mean for The Witcher 3 in the video below. The Witcher 3: Complete Edition is due to arrive for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 14th December.

  • All hail the new generation. It looks exactly like the old generation.

    Really not impressed with the "improvements." I can see limited improved textures but just as many or more that are the same, and it looks awkward AF where they are juxtaposed. I mean ... I am not a graphics or frame rate purist by any stretch, but the fact that I am seeing visual wonkiness in their trailer / sizzle reel doesn't bode well. It really shows in the faces, hands, etc. this weird interplay of what was "updated" and what was not.

    They should have just left this alone. I looked beautiful on the PS4. This is not adding any value. And you can bet that it will be a buggy mess for a long time.
  • What i'm not impressed with is that they are so concerned about adding Ray tracing and tacky features that can barely be seen on consoles so we won't get a 60fps 4k mode...
