Krafton has announced that it's making changes to PUBG: Battlegrounds' gunplay meta with Update 20.1, due to roll out for consoles in a couple of weeks. Improvements to weapon attachments, and updates to various game mechanics like firing from vehicles, as well as a new ranked season, world and map updates, and more will also be included in the upcoming patch.
Among the changes to weapon attachments will be adjustments to the Thumbgrip, Angled Foregrip, Halfgrip, Vertical Foregrip (so it no longer dominates the battlefield as the go-to choice), and Lightweight Grip. Players driving a vehicle will also have their handgun reload animation cancelled when controlling the steering wheel, while the overall duration of the handgun reload animation has been increased by roughly 50%.
Furthermore, full-auto ARs benefit from the 8x and 15x scopes now usable as attachments for the M16A4 and Mk47 Mutant, while the 4x scope will receive three additional reticle types. PUBG Global Championship 2022 esports items like flags, billboards, and decorations will also be scattered across Erangel, Taego, and Miramar.
Additionally, the Blue Zone in Deston will undergo a tweak to its radius rate and start delay, increased in radius for the first phase and the second phase, while the Jammer Pack has been adjusted for Miramar, Karakin, Haven, and Deston, increasing the damage dealt to the item when in the Blue Zone.
Quality-of-life improvements round out the patch, including tweaks to the carry feature, screen ping marker, and the introduction of new inventory-related Radio Messages. Ranked Season 20 will also commence with the arrival of Update 20.1 - you can consult the full patch notes for the forthcoming patch here.
PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 20.1 is coming to PlayStation and Xbox on 19th October, with a Dead by Daylight crossover set to follow on 20th October.
