Apex Legends developer Respawn has put out a statement tackling an increase in harassment towards its employees.

“Recently, we have seen increased harassment towards members of our development team,” begins the statement.

“We welcome community input, however, the line between constructive feedback and the harassment of our dev team cannot be crossed. We want to remind our players that we have a zero tolerance policy for threats and the harassment of our developers. We will take appropriate action to ensure the health and safety of our team.”

“We love hearing feedback and will continue to work alongside our community to foster a respectful, collaborative environment, and uphold the competitive integrity of our game.”

Respawn isn't the first developer to address growing harassment towards its employees. Destiny 2 developer Bungie revealed that it had reduced communication with players due to “real threats” towards people working at the studio.

  • Is it really that hard for people to voice their criticisms of a game without getting personal or disgusting towards the actual people behind the game?
  • I feel like not enough people are taking into consideration how many 14 year olds there actually are on the internet responsible for threats
  • @1 No, everyone is a cunt apparently. The only solution is to not be on social media because internet etiquette is like a white buffalo
