Following May's Spring Update, developer Sloclap is set to launch Sifu's free Summer Update next week, bringing a raft of new features to the Kung Fu roguelike beat 'em up, including gameplay modifiers, a new scoring system, and new outfits.

Modifiers run the spectrum for both casual and hardened Sifu players, with a boost in challenge available via a mod that has enemies ignore your guard, or one that prevents you from being able to pick up weapons. Conversely, you can make life easier with modifiers that grant infinite health and structure, as well as unbreakable weapons.

Anyone demanding a “true challenge” can make bespoke 'hardcore' runs, using modifiers to make enemies stronger, giving your Kung Fu master a single hit point, or removing the game's ageing and guarding. As for the new scoring system, this will track every punch, kick, sweep, and finishing move, before giving a ranking based on your smoothness, efficiency, and variety in combat.

Complete a fight without being hit, and your score will be one worth bragging about, while you can look the part with two new outfits available in the Wuguan: the Enforcer armor set for owners of the Sifu deluxe edition, and an outfit for all players dubbed the Master Hand, a set made up of a stylish hat and trenchcoat.

Sifu is out now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, with the free Summer Update due to roll out on 31st August.
