Assemble Entertainment has released a new trailer for Squad 51 vs. the Flying Saucers, and revealed a new release window for the game.

Previously announced under the name Squadron 51, Squad 51 vs. the Flying Saucers is a 2D shmup that looks like it's been pulled straight out of crappy 1950s sci-fi film, complete with dodgy flying saucer props held up by strings. It looks brilliant.

The game also features live-action FMV cutscenes in a similarly cheap sci-fi style, and players will need to fly through eleven levels to stop the alien uprising. The game features four different aircraft to pilot, as well as co-op multiplayer, and a dynamic difficulty. You can check out the trailer for yourself down below.

Squad 51 vs. the Flying Saucers is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Autumn 2022.
