It seems that developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is hard at work on Yakuza 8,  as shown in a video from Japanese MMA fighter, Mikuru Asakura. Taken during a visit to SEGA Sammy, Asakura is given a look at footage of the Like A Dragon sequel (around the ten-minute mark in the video below).

In the images (shared by Famitsu), there's a look at protagonist Ichiban Kasuga (with his outlandish hair seemingly tied back), former cop Koichi Adachi, and umbrella-wielding ex-nurse Yu Nanba. As well as three key members of the Yakuza: Like A Dragon gang returning, Asakura will apparently have a role in the game, too.

Hopefully, these first images point to a reveal trailer coming soon, and the first details on Yakuza 8 from SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. You can take a look at the video from Asakura and some of the Yakuza 8 images snapped from his visit to SEGA Sammy, below. RGG's last game was Lost Judgment, and you can find a review of that here.

  • I can't wait! Final Fantasy can F off with its 'aimed towards kids by being a DMC knockoff' - people still love JRPGs as proven by sales of Persona 5, Yakuza 7 and DQ11...

Square Enix is just destroying themselves from the inside at this point by making FF games nothing but button mashing hack and slashers. Even the FF7 Remake was shit.
