OlliOlli World studio Roll7 has confirmed that Rollerdrome, its “retro-futuristic” skate-and-shoot game, seemingly inspired by '70s cult classic flick Rollerball, will be launching next month with a PlayStation Plus Premium Trial, and a limited-time promotional price tag.

A single-player, third-person affair, Rollerdrome sees you skating and popping tricks as Kara Hassan, as she participates in an ultra-violent area sport of 2030, rollerskating and blasting her opponents to emerge victorious. Boasting a comic book art style and a ‘darksynth’ soundtrack, Rollerdrome looks like just the ticket.

Rollerdrome will be skating its way to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 16th August, with the promotional $19.79 price tag available during its first two weeks on sale. For the record, Rollerball was released in 1975, so really, the price should have been $19.75, but we'll forgive the four cents.

Rollerdrome will also be getting a trial for PlayStation Plus Premium members, and after two weeks post-launch, the game will adopt its regular price of $29.99/£24.99.
