I’m not hung up on Kojima making a The Boys game, or similar concept, but I do think a game with that concept needs to be made (I doubt Suicide Squad will deliver on that aspect). Hell it doesn’t need to be super heroes either. I’ve always wondered what a show/game where non-force sensitive beings in Star Wars went and hunted down the powerful Jedi and Sith of whatever era it’s set in (yes Order 66 exists, but I’m talking normal-ish people like the protagonists in The Boys, not an army of clones of a Mandalorian bounty hunter)Monday, June 27, 2022 @ 09:26 PM
If he's going to do anything, he should do the game he wanted to do. It's not like The Boys is super original in itself anyway.
I want Kojima games. I don't want a tie in game done by Kojima wherein he was held to a specific theme so it ties in with a TV show.

Hideo Kojima has revealed that he had been developing a project very similar to popular Amazon Prime TV series, The Boys, which is currently into its third season. While the show failed to maintain the Metal Gear and Death Stranding creator's interest beyond three episodes, he did notice similarities to a game concept he had.
“The Boys, which I quit after 3 episodes of season 1,” reads the first part of Kojima's tweet (via VGC). “I thought I'd watch the rest of the show. Actually, I watched a few episodes that were delivered at the time when I was about to start a project that I had been warming up for a long time…”
The second part of the tweet adds that Kojima had to put the project on hold, “because the concept was similar (different settings and tricks). A buddy (male/female) thing with a special detective squad facing off against legendary heroes behind the scenes. I was thinking of Mads as the lead."
The ‘Mads’ in question here, is, of course Mads Mikkelsen, who played a pivotal character in Kojima's Death Stranding. However, Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander in The Boys, replied “second that notion” to a tweet from writer and producer, Eric Kripke, who asked that Kojima "please come make a The Boys game. We can team up and conquer! Huge fan, btw.”
At present, Kojima is working on a ‘cloud-powered game’ exclusively for Xbox (which won't affect Kojima Productions' PlayStation partnership), but if some of the creatives behind The Boys are keen for him to get on board with a video game adaptation of the Prime TV series, we'd certainly be interested in seeing that, too.
