Today sees update 1.17 launching for Gran Turismo 7, bringing back a seminal GT classic car, in the monstrously fast and almost uncontrollable Suzuki V6 Escudo Pikes Peak Special '98, alongside two other cars, an additional circuit, and even more menus to complete at the Gran Turismo Café.

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak returns to Gran Turismo for the first time in a decade, replete with its fully tuned 2.5L V6 engine and twin turbochargers, allowing for a maximum 981 BHP and 95 kgfm max torque. Its modified powertrain, aluminium space frame tops out its performance, enabling it to conquer steep hill climbs.

Joining the Escudo is the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3 Version), which boasts a 1,340 cc Hayabusa engine linked to three high-power electric motors on an AWD powertrain - although this Gr.3 Version has a simple front engine, rear-wheel drive layout with a V8 twin turbo powerplant made up of two Hayabusa engine blocks for a 2,680 cc displacement. Combined, this allows for 577 BHP at 10,000 rpm.

The 1932 Ford Roadster completes the triumvirate of free cars included in Update 1.17, the iconic American Hot Rod modified for performance, with the Ford Model shorn of its wheel arches, bonnets, and top, transforming it into a powerful convertible. Rounding out the update is the historic Watkins Glen International circuit, a venue nestled in the rolling hills of New York State, featuring high-speed sections and corners to master.

Three extra menus have also been added to the Gran Turismo Café, with the Toyota 86 Collection and Honda Type R Collection opening at Collector Level 20, and the Rotary Engine Collection opening at Collector Level 32. Update 1.17 rolls out for Gran Turismo 7 today at 11pm PDT, 23rd June at 7am BST/3pm JST.
