Ubisoft kicked off Assassin's Creed's 15th Anniversary celebrations yesterday, and announced several pieces of new content coming to Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
First up is The Forgotten Saga, a hugely ambitious new game mode arriving as a free update to Assassin's Creed Valhalla later in the summer. Inspired by rogue-lite games, The Forgotten Saga will see players fighting off enemies and monsters in Niflheim in order to reach Hel, daughter of Loki. Dying will send Eivor back to the beginning, but there's upgrades and rewards to be gained, with your gained knowledge allowing you to get further each time.
Valhalla will also be introducing a brand new chapter at the end of the year, which will serve as the final episode in the story of Eivor, and will be free to all Assassin's Creed Valhalla players.
Finally, Assassin Creed Valhalla's educational Discovery Tour has now launched as a standalone game, titled Discovery Tour: Viking Age. The standalone experience is priced at £15.99 / $19.99, and comes with twelve new trophies (but no platinum). Ubisoft has also released a free curriculum guide for teachers and students who wish to use Discovery Tour as part of their education.
