Asmodee, a board game publisher, is part of Embracer. There certainly is a lot of potential for overcomplicated overpriced board games everbody forgets about four weeks after release. :D
At least folks like me gets some nice miniatures out of it every now and again.
Anyway, new games >> remasters
This whole craze is exactly that. IF there was decent backwards compatibility on consoles, there was little need for this.

We could be seeing remakes and remasters for games like Tomb Raider and Deus Ex, according to Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors.
Wingefors was speaking in Embracer Group's recent financial report about the company's recent acquisition of several western IPs from Square Enix, including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, and Legacy of Kain.
“After the end of the quarter, we further strengthened our development capabilities and IP-portfolio by entering into an agreement to acquire Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal, including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief and Legacy of Kain and other IPs. The announcement got an overwhelming and positive response. We see a great potential, not only in sequels, but also in remakes, remasters, spinoffs as well as transmedia projects across the Group. We expect the transaction to close in the July-September period.”
So while new games in these series always seemed a given, it appears that Embracer Group plans to, ahem, embrace its new IP but bringing back older titles in the series, either in remaster or remake form, as well as future spin-offs too.
If this means we can see remastered versions of games like Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, or Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver on modern consoles, we'll be more than happy. Wingefors says that he expects the acquisition to close between July and September this year.
