Delayed last month, having been previously scheduled for a Q2 2022 release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition will now be releasing for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in Q4 2022, developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed.
That puts the game's release somewhere around October to December, despite being announced in 2020 for a 2021 release, before the project was then taken from Saber Interactive's Russian development team, and brought back into internal development at CD Projekt RED.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition promises bolstered resolution, frame rate, and performance, with all of the new-gen bells and whistles you'd expect, as well as DLC inspired by the Netflix TV series. All being well, you'll be able to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in Q4 2022, with a free upgrade available for existing owners of The Witcher 3 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Incidentally, today marks seven years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first launched, the game selling 40 million copies to date. CD Projekt RED also has a new Witcher Saga in the pipeline, which will be built Unreal Engine 5.
