Square Enix and developer h.a.n.d., Inc. have today released The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story, a live-action mystery adventure title, for PlayStation, Switch, and PC. The game is directed by Metal Gear Solid V alum, Koichiro Ito, and produced by Junichi Ehara of NieR: Automata and Babylon's Fall fame.
As per the title, The Centennial Case revolves around the Shijimas, an ill-fated family who've been subjected to a series of inexplicable deaths during the past 100 years. Playing as mystery writer, Haruka Kagami, you'll need to use your powers of deduction to unravel the truth behind four murder cases spanning a century of Shijima family history.
A traditional and authentic Japanese story, A Shijima Story transcends time across several eras, with cinematography and scenario direction from Yasuhito Tachibana, producer on Netflix's ‘The Naked Director’. Nanami Sakuraba plays protagonist Haruka, while Yuta Hiraoka plays second son Eiji Shijima.
The Centennial Case: A Shinjima Story is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC, while anyone who purchases the game before 19th May will get a 50-minute behind the scenes documentary and a mini soundtrack as bonus content.
