As promised, Gran Turismo 7's 1.11 update has rolled out today, addressing the payouts for certain races, increasing the amount of Credits you can earn via World Circuit events. The patch arrives in an effort to rebalance the in-game economy in GT7, following a backlash in response to the game's microtransactions.
Last month, developer Polyphony Digital released an update that reduced payouts for races players were using to farm Credits, leading to extended maintenance. Subsequently, Gran Turismo 7's servers were out of action for more than 24 hours, before being brought back online with update 1.08.
Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi has since issued an apology for the extended maintenance, offering a bundle of 1,000,000 Cr. to all players who log in to Gran Turismo 7 before 25th April. Yamauchi states that following update 1.11, World Circuit event payouts in the latter half of its campaign have been increased by roughly 100% on average.
Rewards for completing the Circuit Experience with a Gold or Bronze trophy have also been added, while the number of rewards for Lobbies and Daily Races have been increased. New World Circuit race events, alongside one-hour endurance races via the ‘Human Comedy’ option in Missions, unlocked upon reaching Collector's Level 23. Completing an endurance race will bag you up to 1,200,000 Credits.
The cap on non-paid Credits in player wallets has also been raised form 20,000,000 to 100,000,000, and the number of Used and Legend cars on offer have been increased, to boot. You can take a look at the full 1.11 update patch notes here.
Gran Turismo 7 is available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and you can give our review a read here.
