Techland has confirmed some particulars regarding co-op play in Dying Light 2 Stay Human, noting that the cross-platform and cross-generation co-operative experience will be unavailable for consoles at launch. But with five years of post-launch content planned, presumably these will be features rolled out at some point in the future.
When playing co-op in Dying Light 2, which supports up to four players, Techland has also confirmed that the entire game will be playable in co-op, from start to finish. Any players visiting a host player's game as a session guest will also retain items and progression, and important choices made during the story will be put to the vote between players, with the host ultimately having the final decision.
Finally, the developer has also announced that Dying Light 2 Stay Human will support a free upgrade from PS4 to PS5, allaying fears that the game may be releasing as two separate SKUs. That will evidently not be the case. Dying Light 2 Stay Human launches on 4th February, with pre-orders bagging the ‘Reload Pack’ and 'Reach for the Sky Pack' bundling outfits, weapons, backpack, and paraglider skins.
