Developer Guerrilla Games has released a new story trailer for Horizon Forbidden West, the upcoming sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, which is now less than a month out from release for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

In Forbidden West, Aloy will return to tackle an onslaught of new mechanical enemies, a potentially world-ending blight, the might of Regalla and her tribe of rebels, Sylens, and other new threats currently being kept under wraps. However, Aloy will have her fair share of allies, including returning stalwarts like Varl and Erend, as well as new friends such as Zo, Alva, and Kotallo.

The story trailer also features appearances from key characters like Tenakath tribe chief, Hekarro; Sylens; and the mysterious Tilda, a new character who has “a special connection to the ancient past”. You can take a brief look at Forbidden West's narrative in the new story trailer below.

Horizon Forbidden West launches for PS5 and PS4 on 18th February 2022.

  • Oh, boy, so excited! What a trailer! That's how a game properly hypes itself.

I'm currently replaying the first game as I played it when it first came out in February 2017, and wanted to remind myself of the story (I also hadn't played the expansion). The first game sits up there with my favourite games of all time, and even though I am playing a game I have played before, I am still very much enjoying it, which, for me, is a sign of a truly great game. Cannot wait for the sequel, which I have had on pre-order for sometime now...
  • I played HZD on PC; the game and its story were excellent! I definitely want to play Forbidden West, when I can get a PS5.
  • Less than a month away!
