New reports suggest that Harry Potter-verse RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, might be delayed until 2023, having been hit with a delay from 2021 to 2022 around the same time last year.
"Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us, so we are giving the game the time it needs," Warner Bros. Games said back in January 2021, and another similar statement could be in the offing soon, assuming the latest info proves accurate.
The latest delay rumours come care of Sacred Symbol's podcast (via Eurogamer), in which the host reckons that there are rumblings “behind the scenes" that Hogwarts Legacy" isn't coming out this year". Apparently, “it's in some sort of trouble”.
Whether WB Games and developer Portkey Games will come forth with an official delay announcement, pushing Hogwarts Legacy into 2023 remains to be seen, but this kind of thing rarely bodes well.
Set 200 years prior to the birth of Harry Potter, Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG set within the Potterverse, taking you to the hallowed halls of the wizarding school during the 1800s. Announced in September 2020, updates regarding Hogwarts Legacy have been sparse since then, so it's perhaps not all that implausible that the game could be in development hell.
