Rubgy 22 Gets a New Gameplay Trailer Ahead of This Month's Launch

Matt Lorrigan

Publisher Nacon has dropped its gameplay reveal trailer for Rugby 22, the latest rugby game from developer EKO Software, coming to PS4 and PS5  later this month.

The gameplay reveal shows off some of the new features coming to the game, including a brand new control scheme for touches, rucks, and mauls, as well as improved AI for both your players and the opposing team, adapting to your tactical choices on the fly.

Additionally, there's an entirely new difficult mode being added to Rugby 22, offering players a more “complex” and difficult challenge for anyone who has mastered the game.

As for teams, Rugby 22 includes many of the top national teams, including the New Zealand, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Wales, Fiji, Georgia, and Japan - although England are conspicuous in their absence. As for non-national teams, Nacon has confirmed the inclusion of the Top 14, the Pro D2 and the United Rugby Championship.

You can check out the gameplay reveal down below. Rugby 22 is launching on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 27th January 2022.
