Ubisoft has released two new videos for Rainbow Six Extraction, showing off plenty of new gameplay, and giving us a bit more lore in the process.
First up is the Lore Gameplay Trailer, which goes into further detail about the Chimera Parasite (not to be confused with Resistance's Chimera Virus) and the creatures that it creates. This alien parasite can mutate into at least twelve different monstrous forms - called Archæans. These include the Lurker, able to cloak itself and nearby enemies, and the Apex, with the ability to summon lesser creatures from the parasitic film that coats the areas you're fighting in. The trailer even suggests that the alien creatures can morph into gross, gooey copies of the operators themselves. Creepy.
If you want even more details (and a few strategies ahead of the game's launch) you can check out Ubisoft's 10-minute video further down, which reveals more of the enemies and the tactics you'll want to defeat them. For any players who spent a lot of time in Left 4 Dead back in the day, a lot of these enemies will seem quite familiar, which certainly isn't a bad sign for this co-op shooter.
Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 20th January 2022.
