Previously leaked title The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience has now been officially revealed, with a short teaser trailer featuring a slightly-unsettling Keanu Reeves.

The experience, as it is being touted, has been created by The Matrix Resurrections director Lana Wachowski, as well as Epic Games, and stars both Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. What else do we know about the game? Basically nothing!

But if you're interested, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is available to pre-load on PS5 now, and features a countdown to 10th December 2021, when it seems it'll go live. We'll be getting more information at The Game Awards on 9th December 2021.

You can check out the teaser trailer down below!

  • I just wasted 30 sexonds of my life watching it twice because I blinked and missed it the first time ...
Wow. That really cleared things up. Hope Keanu got his 100k for doing this amazing addition to his ouvre. :D
  • I’ll watch someone on YouTube be the guinea pig and try it. It’s likely just an interactive advertisement but if there’s something there worth a download then great.
  • Got it downloaded. If it's involving The Matrix, I'm in.
  • To answer Keanu's question. I think his beard is real.
  • @JuSt BLaZe:
Well, apparently you are mistaken. That 3 second clip of Keanu is supposed to be CGI.

Sooo ... I guess we can settle on "hyped up tech demo". The kind of clips that they used to feature on E3. Because we didn't get close to photorealistic graphic demos years ago already. Which are still impractible for a game that has a bunch of other stuff going on that needs processing power.
  • A short Quantic Dream like gameplay sequence with these graphics could be amazing
