Developer Digital Extremes has slapped a release date on Warframe: The New War, the game's “largest and most ambitious cinematic expansion”. The New War will include a free Cinematic Questline, as well as new playable characters and a dramatic story that unfolds across three Acts.

You'll be able to discover open worlds besieged by Sentients, experience new missions in new environments, and tackle a series of new threats and challenges. Dangling questions about Warframe's expansive universe will be addressed, and you'll even get to take control of enemies like Kahl-175 the Grineer, Veso the Corpus Tech, and the Daz: Teshin, in a fight across the Origin System.

The New War will also introduce new weapons, customisations, and accessories, alongside 48th Warframe, Caliban, a Sentient-Warframe hybrid. An improved ‘Tenno Guide’ UI will make it easier to navigate Warframe's Questline, while additional quality of life improvements have also been implemented. And anyone eager to jump in to The New War can get a primer via the Prime Resurgence event.

Through the event, you can gain instant access to many of the rarest and most powerful Warframes for a limited time, and complete some of the prerequisites required to take part in The New War when it launches for Warframe on 15th December. These include building an Archwing, building or purchasing a Railjack, building or purchasing a Necramech, and unlocking an Operator.
