Albert Wesker voice actor DC Douglas has allegedly outed confidential Resident Evil 4 remake concept art, depicting how the character will look in the unannounced (but strongly rumoured) game's ‘Separate Ways’ mode.

A screengrab of the artwork was taken by Twitter account @BewareCreepVAs (as reported by VGC), which alleges that Douglas broke NDA by sharing the images with multiple fans via Twitter DMs. In a screenshot of one DM thread, Douglas urges a fan not to share the concept art, as he “could get sued”.

While the authenticity of the concept art has yet to be corroborated, that hasn't stopped the imagery from spreading like wildfire on social media, and Douglas has since deleted his Twitter account.

A report from back in January 2021 stated that the Resident Evil 4 remake has been in the works since 2018, with a view towards launching sometime in 2023. M-Two, a studio headed up by former PlatinumGames head Tatsuya Minami was said to be working on the game, before its role was reportedly reduced significantly.

Again, none of this has been confirmed by Capcom, although the case for the existence of Resident Evil 4 remake continues to mount. Capcom's internal Division 1 is apparently now working on the project, bringing its considerable experience on the Resident Evil and Devil May Cry to the table.

While we're all waiting for an official Resident Evil 4 remake announcement, why not read up on what we'd like to see from the game, and take a look back at why RE4 remains a seminal survival horror more than 15 years on.

  • I miss Wesker as the main franchise villain and even though 6 is considered the low point of the series I still liked it. I really enjoyed all the main characters finally coming together. I loved RE7 and 8 was okay, not really a fan of the story direction though, it just doesn't feel like resident evil anymore. What happened to the zombies Capcom? When I think resident evil I think zombies. Not dark sludge creatures or knock-off werewolves. Zombies. Just cause you threw Chris into the games doesn't make it resident evil.
  • @Maxstuff, That's why I think it's nice they are working on both new games and remakes. The new games can try out new things to keep things fresh, while the remakes are there for classic RE feel with zombies. I think RE7 showed you really don't need zombies to have a good RE game.

At least for me, I'm not a die hard fan of the franchise;)
