Bandai Namco has released an extensive gameplay overview trailer for Dragon Ball: The Breakers, its upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer game based on the popular anime.
Seven players will play as non-superpowered Survivors, attempting to survive and escape while one player takes on the role of the supervillainous Raider, choosing from Freiza, Cell, or Buu from Dragon Ball Z. In order to escape the battlefield, Survivors must activate the Super Time Machine, protecting the Startup System that appears in the middle of the map for a limited time.
However, to even get the Startup System to appear, Survivors must set power keys, found hidden around the map. The more power keys are set, the less time it takes to activate the Startup System. You following so far? Oh, and Survivors can also use Change Power to briefly take on the forms of heroes like Vegeta and Krillin, but it's best used as a last resort.
On the other side, the Raider will win the game if they can stop the activation of the Super Time Machine, or if they can defeat all of the Survivors. The Raider can also evolve throughout the battle. For example, Cell starts in his larvae form, and evolves as he absorbs Survivors and NPCs around the map. Different Raiders have different skills, special attacks, and ways to evolve.
There's a ton more details in the 11-minute trailer down below, including strategies for both sides, so if you're even remotely interested in how the game players, you can check it out down below. There's also a closed beta running on PC in December, if you fancy that.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2022.
