Psychological Thriller 'Martha Is Dead' Has Been Delayed to Next Year

Matt Lorrigan

Publisher Wired Productions has announced that Martha IS Dead has been delayed, and will now be launching in February 2022.

A first-person psychological thriller set in Italy in 1944, during the late stages of the Second World War, Martha Is Dead has been developed by LKA, the studio behind The Town of Light. Combining real world locations in the Italian countryside with superstition, folklore, and “deep psychological distress”, the game aims to blur the line between reality and fiction.

“Martha Is Dead has been a long journey for us, but we’re now nearing the point where the whole world will get to play it,” says LKA founder Luca Dalco. “This is an experience curated to be faithful and accurate to the era, from our authentic recreation of the Tuscan countryside through to the impact that WWII had on Italy. We can’t wait for people to experience the game for themselves.”

The new teaser trailer introduces us to twins Martha and Giulia, but offers precious little more information about the game. For a better look at how it plays, we've also included a developer walkthrough down below.

Martha Is Dead is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 24th February 2022.
