Onion Games has announced that the previously Japan-only RPG moon (also known as Moon: Remix RPG Adventure) is coming to PS4 and PS5 on 16th December 2021.

Originally released in Japan for the PlayStation in 1997, moon was a subversive take on the classic JRPG, which saw you playing as a boy sucked into a fictional JRPG and cast as one of the supporting characters. In this video game world, the ‘hero’ is murdering animals for experience, looting homes for items, and generally wreaking havoc - as we've all done in an RPG before. As the supporting character, you have to stop the hero, gather love in the world, and attempt to return home.

As an RPG with no combat that sees you attempting to save the spirits of murdered monsters, moon was well ahead of its time, and despite not receiving a localisation until last year, the game served as a big influence for Toby Fox, creator of Undertale.

moon first came to the west last year on Nintendo Switch, and will now be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on 16th December 2021. You can check out last year's Switch trailer down below.
