Deathverse: Let it Die has been announced for PS4 and PS5, as a follow-up to the 2016 Suda51 game Let it Die.

Created by Supertrick Games (formerly Grasshopper Manufacture) Deathverse: Let it Die takes place in a world set hundreds of years after Let it Die, with players fighting for glory and stardom in a brutal survival TV show - Death Jamboree. The show itself takes place in a virtual world known as the Deathverse, created as a final destination for people's souls.

Once in battle, players will be accompanied by a special robotic companion, called Wilson. This robot unit transforms into a weapon when you attack an enemy, can deploy a protective shield when in drone form, shoots electric bullets to stun enemies, and can activate your skills.

The show is run by a selection of bizarre characters, such as master of ceremonies Bryan Zemeckis, and ex-winner QueenB. During a match, you might also run into Hunter G, an invincible assassin who will chase down and kill players for the viewers' pleasure.

It's a lot of information to take in, but it all starts to make sense once you watch the announcement trailer down below. Deathverse: Let it Die due to come to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as a free-to-play title in 2022. With 2016's Let it Die passing 6 million downloads last year, we imagine that publisher GungHo Online Entertainment will be hoping for similar success here.
