Resident Evil Village Hits 5 Million Sales Milestone

Resident Evil Village Hits 5 Million Sales Milestone

Matt Lorrigan

Resident Evil Village has passed 5 million units shipped worldwide, Capcom announced today.

The latest game in the long-running survival horror series, Resident Evil Village released in May, and went on to ship over four million units in less than a month. By July, the game had shipped another 500,000 units, bringing the total to 4.5 million, and now the game has passed the 5 million unit milestone.

Sales do seem to be slowing down, as expected, but Resident Evil Village is still ahead of the pace set by Resident Evil 7, according the Capcom. The game's strong performance even led to Capcom achieving record profits earlier this year. With Halloween around the corner, and the game beginning to receive heavy discounts, we wouldn't be surprised to see the game continue to succeed going forward.

Resident Evil Village is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
