It Takes Two Passes 3 Million Copies Sold

It Takes Two has passed three million copies sold, developer Hazelight Studios has revealed.

The co-op adventure game, from Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out creator Josef Fares, launched earlier this year, and quickly proved to be a sales success, selling over one million units in its first month. The game quickly passed two million sales only two months later, and now, its continued success and strong post-launch momentum has seen it reach three million games sold.

“The thought of so many people enjoying our game is humbling and heartwarming,” says a statement from developer Hazelight. “You’ve all helped send a clear message - co-op adventures are here to stay!”

The success is well deserved in our eyes, with Rich heavily praising It Takes Two in his review, calling it a “breath of fresh air and total co-op nirvana.” If you've still not gotten around to playing it, It Takes Two is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

  • Well deserved, game kept coming with new mechanics which was very refreshing.
  • I can't wait to play this with a friend. Please have a better sale and I'll buy it.
  • The fact that they let friends play it free with a game owner makes this feat even more impressive. Well deserved.
  • Haven't played but delighted for their success and hope it spurs on further co-op developement. Both couch and online.
  • Very impressive! Picked it up just last week, seemed like the perfect game to play with my non gamer gf
  • C-Op is great. But a solo-mode would be much appreciated. It's a shame to be fared from playing a game just because you don't have friends who want to play it, too. I also like to see online and couch co-op instead of either or.
