Ubisoft has dropped a new trailer for upcoming co-op shooter Rainbow Six Extraction, setting the scene for the game's alien invasion, and showing off some new gameplay in the process.

The lethal, mutating alien parasites that has begun to take over the United States are called the Archaeans, and they've completed dominated four major regions around North America - New York, San Francisco, Alaska, and New Mexico. Faced with a threat unlike any they've taken on before, Team Rainbow must head into these regions, gather intelligence, push back the alien menace, and extract their squad safely.

Playing solo or in co-op, Rainbow Six Extraction lets players choose how far they are willing to go in each location's three zones. Do you extract early and bank what you've collected so far, or do you push onward to the harder challenges, with the promise of greater reward, but with the risk of losing it all if you don't make it out.

You can check out the new trailer for the game down below. Rainbow Six Extraction is launching on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in January 2022.
