According to reports, the upcoming Dead Space remake in development at EA Motive, could be aiming for a late 2022 release window, potentially sometime around the scary season that is Halloween.
Based upon “sources familiar with development” on Dead Space, GameBeat's Jeff Grubb apparently has the scoop, although EA isn't yet in a position to commit to a firm release window, releasing a statement regarding Grubb's claims.
“We haven’t shared a release date for the game, and we don’t have any comment based on the current rumour and speculation,” said EA. “But we’re glad people are excited for the game!” Rumours abound that EA could be planning to show more of the game later this year, potentially at either Gamescom this month or The Game Awards in December.
Grubb reckons that EA's internal expectations for Dead Space's release slot somewhere into the company's fiscal year 2021, putting it between April 2022 and March 2023. However, given how little we've seen of the game thus far, a later release in 2022, sometime around the time of pumpkins and such, would make sense.
Announced during EA Play Live in July, Motive's remake of Dead Space promises to restore certain cut content, as well as building the game from the ground up with an improved story, and other changes. The Dead Space remake is set for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
