Developer Saber Interactive has announced that the release of Evil Dead: The Game has been delayed into 2022.

Saber is targetting a new release date of February 2022 in order to give to the team more team to polish up the game, and to “ensure this is the ultimate Evil Dead experience” that fans have been waiting for. In a statement on the game's official Twitter account, it was also confirmed that this extra time in the oven would allow Saber Interactive to add a single-player option, which will allow players to enjoy Evil Dead: The Game even if you don't fancy going online for some co-op action.

“We want to thank everyone for your understanding and support and please stay tuned for more information about new character updates, pre-order availability, and the next gameplay video featuring Bruce Campbell,” said Saber Interactive on Twitter.

Originally due to launch by the end of the year, Evil Dead: The Game is an asymmetrical horror game based off of cult-classic series, featuring characters from across the films and canon. We got our first glimpse at gameplay at E3 back in June, and the game looks like a hell of a lot of fun, so we're happy to wait just a little bit longer.

Evil Dead: The Game is now coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in February 2022.

  • Nice, I was dissapointed that there was no single player, so this is great news!
  • Good news really, as whilst I would like to play it, it will be even more enjoyable with the extra polish and single player mode. :)
