PUBG: Battlegrounds (yeah, I know: PlayerUnkown's Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds) is due to kick off Season 13.1 next month, bringing with it updates to the recently released Taego map set in 1980s South Korea, as well as tweaks to the Sanhok map, new features for Taego, and more besides.
A new ranked season will also be available to partake in, while in Taego, you'll find a new Secret Room that randomly spawns on the map, housing some of the best gear Survivors can possibly find. To access it, you'll first need to find the secret key, then the sweet loot can be yours if you can then get into the Taego Secret Room.
As for Sanhok, the full remaster implemented in 2020 will undergo further adjustments, most notably the Northwest Island set to receive changes to its geography, including small cliffs and rocks, offering useful cover for players making their way across the shoreline. The Paramo map will also be replaced with Karakin for Normal Match map rotatation.
Update 13.1 is due to roll out for PUBG on consoles from 12th August, with the new ranked season running for two months with a fresh batch of rewards, increased Air Drops on Taego and the introduction of plane Emergency Landings at the beginning of certain matches. Fail to dive from the plane before it lands, and you'll start with 50% HP. You can consult the full PUBG: Battlegrounds 13.1 patch notes here.
