PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has received Update 12.2 on consoles, adding the new 8x8 TAEGO map, situated in South Korea during the 1980s. A new Survivor Pass is also now live, boasting a selection of TAEGO-themed rewards to earn on the way to level 50. Work past level 50, and you can earn bonuses like medals, emblems, and G-Coin.

TAEGO is the first 8x8 map for PUBG in years, and introduces a variety of features unique to the map, including a second-chance mechanic known as ‘Comeback BR’ and a self-revive item called ‘Self AED’. The map itself, meanwhile, includes open reed fields to navigate, as well as close-quarters combat in Hosan Prison.

PUBG custodians Krafton has also joined forces with Hyundai to bring the Korean car manufacturer's 1974 Pony Coupe (its first concept car) to the game. An all-wheel-drive vehicle, the Pony Coupe is well-equipped to traverse the diverse terrain of TAEGO. You can find out more about PUBG's Update 12.2 in the full console patch notes here.

PUBG's 8x8 TAEGO map is live now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
