PUBG's next update arrives on consoles in two weeks, and Krafton Inc has released the Patch Report 12.2 video, going into detail on the upcoming additions to the game.
The big addition is the new 8x8 map, TAEGO, which is set in 1980s South Korea, and comes with some interesting new gameplay tweaks that are exclusive to the new map. These include the new Self AED item, which will allow players to self-revive in squads or as a solo player, as well as the addition of a new Comeback BR mode, which sees players given a second chance to return to their squad, by fighting against other eliminated players, in an area seemingly inspired by Call of Duty: Warzone's Gulag.
“PUBG Studios has introduced unique maps of diverse sizes, and we are happy to finally unveil a Korean-themed map,” said PUBG's Taehyun Kim. “We hope new and existing PUBG players will enjoy the new gameplay experiences, features and elements found in the new map.”
Krafton Inc has also released PUBG's first short live-action film, Ground Zero, starring Train to Busan's Don Lee, which offers up a bit of lore for the new TAEGO map. You can check out the patch report and the Ground Zero short film down below.
PUG Update 12.2 launches on PlayStation and Xbox on 15th July 2021.
