Arkane Lyon has announced that Deathloop has been delayed once again, with the time-looping shooter now pushed into September 2021. Originally announced for a ‘holiday 2020’ release on PlayStation 5, the game was subsequently delayed into a ‘Q2 2021’ window before being given a May launch date.
“We're committed to quality and preserving our team's ambitions for Deathloop while ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Arkane,” a statement tweeted by the studio reads. “We'll be using this extra time to accomplish our goal: create a fun, stylish, and mind-bending player experience.”
Arkane apologises for the “extended wait”, promising to show more of Deathloop ahead of its new September release date. Set on the island of Blackreef, Deathloop sees you playing as Colt, stuck in a time loop while you're relentlessly hunted down by assassin Julianna. Described as a “murder puzzle”, Deathloop will now be coming to PS5 and PC on 14th September 2021.
