Sod next-gen. Forget Game of the Year - it's over, and we can crown the victor right now. It's Chicken Police, the buddy cop noir story in which you play as legendary detective duo, Sonny Featherland and Marty MacChicken. A "washed-up wreck" and a "wannabe star detective", Sonny and Marty soon find themselves on the trailer of a mysterious case, that grows stranger and more dangerous the deeper they go.

While Chicken Police may sound daft, it actually promises an authentic and coherent noir mood and atmosphere. "In creating narrative games, you must pay attention to a lot of things that the player maybe won't even notice (or will be affected only subconsciously), but all in all, I believe everything stands on the characters, whom we'll learn to love or hate to be breathing with them within the world they live in," said Game Director Bánk.

"It all depends on whether you, the player, want to know, is the character have a life outside of the game? If the answer is yes, you, as a writer, did your job well."

Chicken Police is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on 5th November 2020, priced $19.99, with a Nintendo Switch version to follow at a later date. Check out a new cinematic trailer and some gameplay below.

  • I love a good noir game, and the madcap premise definitely has my interest.
