Chicken Police is an Upcoming Noir Buddy-Cop Adventure With Animal Heads

Chicken Police. Need we say more? Ok, we probably do, so take a look at this upcoming fantastical crime drama coming to PS4 later this year.

Described by developers The Wild Gentlemen as an animal-noir buddy-cop adventure game, it looks like a realistic take on Bojack Horseman's art style with the colour palette of a classic noir film. The game combines the gameplay of classic point-and-clink adventures with a visual novel, with over 30 characters to interact with or sometimes interrogate.

This latest update on the game goes into the process that went into the title's creation. Game Director Bálint Bánk Varga explained why they went for chickens down below.

"One of the main reasons was an old YouTube video where two real chickens fought with some nasty rabbits and basically put them into custody. Like real animal-cops in the field. It was hilarious and amazing! The second reason was that I always wanted to do some kind of animal-noir (in Hungary we have some really awesome stories with anthropomorphic animals), and chickens are cocky and weird enough to be utterly magnificent specimens for this kind of story."

You can check out some of the featured voice actors in the first video down below, as well as a story trailer where you can see the weird and wonderful art style.

Chicken Police is due to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year.
